Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a minimum booking time?

Yes, the minimum is one hour if you are within 1-25 miles from the 77070 zip code.

Greater distances have a two hour booking minimum.

Why?

Mainly because it will take me close to an hour to get there, on the day of the week where I do most of my events.  However, a 2 hour booking allows your guest to get more detailed designs, perhaps a glitter tattoo or balloon figure in addition to their face paint, which will make your party memorable.

 

How many hours do I need to book?

For birthday parties, I can paint up to 15-17 children per hour depending on the design requested.  This is an estimate of 3-4 minutes per child.

Small parties (10-12 kids) usually require only 1 hour if your guests arrive within the time I am there.

Larger parties (15-25 kids) usually require 2 hours or 1.5 hours

If you want me to offer glitter tattoos in addition to their face paint, double the time will be needed.  If glitter tattos are offered as an option INSTEAD of a face paint design, then no additional time is needed.

For Festivals/Fairs/ Large events:

You may need to book more than 1 painter if you expect large crowds.  (I do not have multiple workers at the time though).

I have a quick designs board for this type of events an I am usually very fast.  (Not to brag, but I am usually faster than most face painters I am paired with, while still doing a good job) However, I cannot paint for longer than 3 hours without a break.

 

Can I request more time the day of the party?

It is subject to availability, as I may have another party after yours.  Your best bet is to book in advance.

 

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes, there is a $25 deposit to hold the date for your event.  This is non refundable and it is applied to your final balance.

Do I need to provide a table and chairs?

Nope!  I bring my own.

Do you take credit/debit cards?

Yes, I process cards with a secure reader for both chip or swipe cards.

Do you accept personal checks?

I regret I do not.  I accept cash or cards.

When do I pay?

The deposit, at least 2 weeks before the event, the balance you can pay the day of the party or prior if you wish to.

What kind of paints do you use?

Skin safe, hypoallergenic cosmetic grade paint and glitter.  Brands I use are TAG, DIAMOND FX, WOLFE, Global

 

Can you do animal balloons?

Yes, I can do some basic figure balloons, (1 or 2 balloons).  At an event where people have multiple activities to do, or come for a quick visit, this works great (for example, grand openings, fairs, or community events).  At a birthday party, I have found them to be counterproductive, especially in outdoor settings.  Kids running on the grass easily pop their figure, coming back for a replacement, which means they have to make line again, instead of enjoying the party.

 

Why are glitter tattoos the same cost? Most places charge extra?

Rest assure, I use cosmetic grade glitter, what allows me to have the same price is that I make my own templates.

 

Do you wear a costume?

No, but I could if you needed me to, for a small fee.
